Bumper Harvest

Local Farmers report a good Harvest despite all the recent wet weather. There has been some difficulty in harvesting the crop due to the wet ground, and the crop will need additional drying, but yields are good.

Any hope of a reduction in prices for the consumer are probably premature as the fertilizer being purchased for this season is in the region of £360 a tonne compared with £120 a tonne last year. With higher input costs and the additional fuel costs for operating the farm machinery, there seems to be only one way the prices can go. Up!.
